Busy is a light application by modern standards, but data volume and network quality matter more than raw CPU. Practical guidance from installations we actually run:
- Single user: Windows 10 or 11, dual-core processor, 4 GB RAM (8 GB comfortable), 5 GB free space. Any current office desktop or laptop is fine.
- Data server for 3–10 users: Windows with 8–16 GB RAM and an SSD. The SSD is the single biggest performance upgrade for large stock and voucher counts.
- Network: wired gigabit LAN for billing counters. Wi-Fi works, but a weak signal at the counter is the most common cause of "the software is slow" complaints.
- Printing: dot-matrix for continuous stationery, laser or thermal for retail. Confirm the printer model before go-live so formats are set once.
- Busy on Cloud: no server at all — a browser, a decent connection, and optionally a 4G failover router for areas with patchy fibre.
