Single-user and multi-user installation
For a single-user setup the work is straightforward: install, activate, create the company, configure GST and formats. For multi-user, the machine holding the data becomes the server and needs a fixed local IP, correct firewall exceptions, share permissions and — critically — a power-safe configuration. A billing counter losing power mid-post is the classic cause of data corruption.
We recommend an always-on machine or small server rather than the accountant's laptop for the data role. In Pune's older commercial buildings a basic UPS on the server is not optional; we say so at the survey rather than after a corruption.
GST, e-invoice and e-way bill configuration
We enter your GSTIN, state code and financial year correctly at company creation, because fixing these later is messy. Tax rates and HSN codes are set at item-group level so new items inherit them. E-invoice credentials are created on the IRP portal and tested by generating a real IRN, and e-way bill API access is verified with a live document — not left as 'should work'.
Printing, barcode and counter hardware
Invoice formats are installed and printed on your actual printer at the actual paper size, including the second copy, the transport details block and any bilingual terms. For retail and pharma counters we configure thermal receipt printers, test barcode scanner input speed and set the default format per voucher type so billing staff never pick from a list.
- A4, A5 and thermal formats tested on your printers
- Barcode label printing with rate, MRP and batch where used
- Voucher-type-wise default print format
- Email and WhatsApp document sending configured where licensed
Data restore, migration and opening balances
If you are moving from an older Busy version, another machine or another package, the install includes restoring or migrating your data, verifying the trial balance and stock valuation against your previous records, and entering opening balances where a fresh start is preferred. We match totals before signing off.
Backups — the part most installs get wrong
We configure a scheduled backup to a second physical location: an external drive plus a cloud folder is the minimum we accept. Then we perform a test restore, because a backup that has never been restored is only a hope. You are shown how to check the backup log so you can verify it weekly yourself.
Reinstallation, PC transfer and Windows upgrades
Replacing a computer, moving offices within Pune, or upgrading Windows all require the licence to be released and re-activated on the new machine. We handle that transfer through the proper channel so you do not end up locked out, and we move the data, formats and backup schedule with it.
